Lucian was sleeping on his tummy when we got there today. We've been told before that this is how he prefers to be positioned. His breathing is so much better this way too. His oxygen saturation was at 99 - 100 percent which is a number we're used to with Emma-Sky but not Lucian's norm. He's at 1cc of breastmilk now and looked peaceful and content. One of his eyes is just about fully open which is very, very exciting. Seeing his sweet little face with his eye open I wonder what he sees. We asked about the flap being open in his heart and if they had done a sonogram since the last time. The attending doctor explained that as long as he's meeting the demands put on him - feeding, breathing, etc and it's not effecting him they won't do anything about it for now. So we'll keep inquiring about it and checking on the echocardiograms when they do them.
Emma-Sky was sleeping and her nurse told us she doesn't like to be bothered, which we knew. She's much more content to just be left alone. When you change her diaper or move her, etc she's fussy and her oxygen saturation drops. Her nurse told us one of her eyes is fully open. Hopefully we'll get to see tomorrow.
They're both in the same room now, across from one another which makes us happy. I really want them right next to each other but I think the staff would definitely be afraid that they'd make a mistake about who gets what, etc. having them so close together.

Jane ..you and Adam are so strong. I always tell parents how hard it is having kids...my son has a disability...but no mom or dad I know including myself have to endure what you and Adam are going through. Your children are beautiful and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. My son is sick tonight and I worry. I think as a mom that is all we do is worry. but I could never imagine the anguish you feel day to day. Just know I am here for you whatever and where ever you may need. You are an awesome , strong mommy! God bless you and your babies..Lucian and Emma. XOXO

ReplyDeleteJane hre is a sight..although I am sure you have ran across it about the rescuing hug. It is about a method they use in Europe having multiples sleep together. You are so strong! Welcome to motherhood. A very tough place to be as a new mom but I know you will all make it through. I am praying for you guys!
XOXO
