Round the clock

Emma is changed and fed, swinging in her swing contently. I am sterilizing her bottles and preparing her formula, powder mixed with sterile water, for the next 24 hours. As she's gaining more weight she looks more and more like her brother. I just called the hospital and he had a good night, not needing oxygen during feedings, but still desaturating to the 70s and then self resolving. I hope we get to the bottom of this sooner rather than later...

We're still settling into routines but we have it all under control. We're trying to be very very germ free - no shoes upstairs, washing hands very often and keeping hand sanitizer handy. :) My mom came back last night and we're so so happy to have her here. Her and my sister took care of Emma's 3am feeding for us.

Our to do list is very big... we need more Dr. Brown bottles for Emma (she's not quite ready for the Ventaires). We must find a truck of some sort this week for me because my car isn't suitable anymore for our family, we must also figure out how we're going to pay for it. We're still unpacking and situating ourself in the house... it took me a month to get settled the last time I moved but this time the circumstances were extreme and the move was chaos. I'm trying to take it one room at a time now - if I have a spare minute... which I don't. ;)

I have to say a big thank you to everyone that has been by my side throughout all of this - Adam first and foremost, sometimes you get really lucky and the person you love shows you why you love them not just everyday but throughout the day. To my family, I really don't know where to begin, maybe you were here everyday (Gina I don't know what I do without you), or you completely changed your life and moved to be here (Grandma and Grandpa we love you and thank you), orr you sent preemie clothes, diapers, brought over lunch, called on the phone (Aunt Annette, Uncle Joe, Cousins Linda, Stephen, Melissa and Tami, Aunt Fran). To my friends at PS 170 and Adam's friends from work for so many things it's hard to name them all - starting a collection for us, bringing us food!, being very understanding, etc... To all of Adam's friends who have been so nice to me and have invited us over or come over here to spend time with us - thank you for welcoming me into your lives and for being there for us. To Angela - I can not say this often but I love you and I'm so happy for you and Thanasi, even from however many miles away you are (geography not my strong point), you have never let that get in the way and have been there for me since the start of our friendship. There's not many people I can say that about. Regina who was there everyday of the pregnancy, making sure I ate well and went above and beyond for me as usual. To Pam who came to the baby shower and found some cute clothes from her niece and nephew and has never let me down since the days we were in diapers. To everyone who leaves a note on the blog or facebook - this means so much because it's an everyday reminder of the support and love we have (Cousins Carolyn, Joe, and Joseph you have consistently left notes here!) For those of you who read silent and pray silently, we thank you too. Amanda you have really been so supportive and kind and I havwe always, always admired how great of a Mom you are and you reminded me that on an airplane they give the Mom the oxygen first because if she can't breathe she can't help anyone else. And that brings me to tears as I write it because if my family is not okay, I am not okay.

So thank you all for being my oxygen.
