From NICU to PICU

Emma is sick and back in the hopital. They've ruled out the flu and RSV but we still haven't gotten the results from her blood cultures yet. She was congested, wheezing and experienceing labored breathing. We took her to the ER on Thursday night and they let us go, telling us to put on the Vaporizer and Vicks on her chest. The pediatrician called an ambulance immediately upon seeing her on Friday, saying the hospital should not have released her. We're in a great hospital now... it is the weekend though and things are progressing slowly. She is more comfortable than she was, after having many, many albuterol nebulizer treatments as well as steroids. She is on IV, not eating while congested. I can't believe we're back in the hospital. I really can't.

  1. I developed asthma while pregnant with Joseph. Once I went to the gynecologist's office after walking up and down subway stairs and had really labored breathing by the time I arrived. I was given a nebulizer treatment right on the spot, and it made me feel so much better.

We're praying for Emma, and I hope this hospital keeps up the good work.
